“[Jesus says] This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12.

During these months of physical distancing we’ve had to express our love for one another at a distance. Or with sign hugs. Or through cards, notes, calls, texts and limited outdoor visitation. We’ve continued praying for those who are sick, undergoing treatment, afflicted with anxiety and/or depression, or have faced job losses or reduced hours. We pray for healthcare workers and their resilience. We’ve celebrated over the births of children and grandchildren – – primarily via social media. We continue to place one foot in front of the other into a future that seems even more mysterious, maybe even more scary, than just the ordinary not knowing what tomorrow may bring.

“Love one another.”

One tangible way I invite you to do so is by dropping a card or note to Bill & Jimmie Pletta. Bill has been hospitalized in Virginia due to Covid-19, and Jimmie is still awaiting her test results. The trip to Virginia was planned, the hospitalization was not. Their address is P.O. Box 66, Pembroke, VA 24136. Pastor Josh and I are in regular contact with Jimmie, and they appreciate all the love, prayers and support from the congregation.

God’s peace, hope and love,

Pastor Jon
