“I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5

This verse has appealed to me for the last many years. There’s something organic about the imagery, as well as an intimacy in the connection between Jesus and us.

When we visit family in California, as we’ll do next month, we usually have a day or two in Napa and Sonoma Valley. This verse plays in my heart and mind for both the truth it expresses and the relationship it conveys. Being among the vineyards, seeing both the beauty of God’s creation and enjoying some fruit of the vine, it’s a peaceful place. Where are some of your peaceful places? I’d love to hear where & why.
